Sunny beaches, ocean life, and all-inclusive living; who wouldn’t want to spend their vacation days relaxing in the Bahamas? I know it’s been my favorite vacation spot for years. The all-inclusive resorts and villas are some of the best places to lounge around getting day drunk and working on that gorgeous tan. When it comes to vacation spots, you have a plethora of resorts and villas to choose from when seeking out your preferred area. But after spending your first few days laying the sun, you may be craving something a little more exciting; a little more adventurous. Not to worry; there are so many options for you to consider when looking at outings and attractions. So, before you decide on your Bahamas vacation rental, you may want to check out the local day trips. For this reason, I’ve outlined the top five areas that you NEED to visit next time you visit the Bahamas:

Aquaventure

This place is amazing! It’s a featured water park inside a resort, on Atlantis Paradise Island. The guests of this resort have free access, but you can pay for a day pass as well. This 141-acre water park features water slides, lazy rivers, and many different swimming areas. You can also check out the amazing hammerhead sharks and swordfish as they swim through the open-air pools. There are shops, restaurants, and lots to grab your attention at this ocean-themed water park. Whether on a romantic getaway, or a family trip; make sure to make this one of your first stops!

Port Lucaya Marketplace

Located on the northernmost Bahama islands, Grand Bahama, Port Lucaya is one of the biggest tourist attractions around, and it’s easy to see why. This marketplace is always buzzing with excitement and tourists that want to capture the essence of the islands. It’s popular with many cruise ships and travelers because of all the shops, local vendors, and constant entertainment! That’s all super cool, but the main attraction here is the underwater cave system that allows you to spot incredible birds and wildlife. There are many different resorts in this area, but the Marketplace is a meeting point for everyone to spend their money and bring home memories and treasures!

This is the spot for all the sporty people in the world! This beach is filled with all the non-motorized water gear you could imagine! Yes, you read that right. Pig Beach is an actual beach in the Bahamas that hosts and allows its guests to swim with actual pigs! Located on Big Major Cay, this small beach is filled with adorable and friendly pigs that splash around in the waist-high water with any and all of their human friends. I don’t know about you, but there’s something incredibly wholesome and FUN about that, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world! There’s an opportunity to feed them, learn about them; but mostly, just hang out and soak in all that cute piggy love!
