What Are Casement Windows and Why Choose Them for Home
Like roof and flooring, doors and windows are also important part of a house and should be given special attention while selecting or installing them. Due to the increasing interest of a home owner in giving a unique, yet appealing look to their place through windows in the recent time, designers and manufacturers have started developing many kinds of window types. Casement Windows
These are types of windows that attached to their frame through hinges. Casement windows can be as single window on in pairs that have common frame. One of the biggest advantages of this window is that one can get a clear view of the outside from inside. In addition, they can be easily opened and closed through a handle. Sometimes also referred as crank windows, these types of windows are appropriate when one is looking for tall windows.

How Casement Windows Are Different from Sliding Windows?
From structure, energy efficient and quality, casement windows are way different from sliding windows. The windows with sliding options open sideways, one layer over the other. On the other side, casement windows are attached to side of a frame and can be opened through a handle or lever. A House with casement windows can have better ventilation as the window opens completely. In this case, air can pass completely. Sliding windows do not have such an option. This also affects the energy-efficiency feature of both the windows. As casement windows have better facilities to pass the air and light, they are more energy efficient than their counterparts.
These are some differences between these two window types, but casement windows have also been considered as a better window option to install. Here are some reasons:
Ability to Fully Open
Unlike most of the window types, the casement windows can be opened fully. Here, the entire window moves and gives a better view and air flow inside the house. Other window types do not have this facility.

Smooth Operation
Handle, lever or special type of hand cranks are used to open these windows which make it easy for one to open and close the window. This removes the requirement of one to reach to window properly and push to close it.

It is very easy to clean and maintain these types of windows. No special equipment or products are required to clean them, and one has to just follow the simple cleaning procedure. These windows have only one pane of glass, which is easy to clean.

Houses with casement windows are very difficult to break into through windows. Their locks are hook-shaped which are attached to frames. This structure provides extra security to the window and makes a house safe for its residents.

As windows allow air and light to pass completely when they are open, they offer an energy-saving window solution to a house. Through this, a house owner can regulate the interior temperature and make inside of the house comfortable without using any special type of electrical appliance.
