Marble is a popular material for counters in kitchens. Marble is the most elegant and durable benchtops but maintaining is more difficult due to marble is not a scratch proof material and you need to maintain it regularly. Marble is porous and can be damaged by dropping an acidic substance like wine, tomato juice, or lemon juice on it. Prevention is key with marble benchtops. Mop up spills as soon as they happen so they don’t have time to scratch the surface.

Marble is the most beautiful, inexpensive compared to other benchtops. Don’t use vinegar directly bleach on marble. A single-use of these acidic substances will eat into a marble countertop’s surface and dull the stone. Marble is easy to get a scratch stain, So you can use mixed vinegar with warm water to clean the benchtop. Don’t use an abrasive cleaner or pads.

Should proper clean the stain

You should always clean the spill over the marble benchtop right away. While cleaning a spill over the marble make sure that the cleaning cloth should be in blotting motion. You should not run the benchtop, and you need to clean the marble with cotton gently.

You should clean marble with mild soap and hot water. Wipe spilled water on the counter with a soft cloth or sponge. This will remove dirt but won’t heal any etching or stains.

Use a sealant

You can give your marble more protection from stains and etching by using spray sealant minimum once in a month. Buying a marble sealant is taking extra care of your marble benchtop. You’re still going to have to wipe up spills immediately to avoid damage, but the sealant will give you more time to clean before the staining starts.

Use baking soda

You need to mix water and baking soda, after cleaning the area with water you need to spread the mixture all over and cover it with a plastic wrap and keep it for 2 days, which will pull out the stain with itself.

Regular Cleaning

For regular maintenance and spills, you use warm, soapy water. Just makes sure to rinse well, sop up any standing water, and completely dry the surface. Marble, acid is kryptonite so do your best to keep things like wine and lemon juice away from the surface. And if they do dirt, tend to them as quickly as possible.
