What Is the Difference between a Queen Sized Mattress and a Full-Sized (Double Bed) Mattress?

Back in the day during the 1960s and 1970s, the marital bedroom was ruled by double beds. The funny thing is they were only 15 inches wider than your typical twin size bed. It need to be noted that most of the homes were much smaller back then. Thus, the double sized mattress was the ideal fit for most happy couples during that time. Starting in the 1980s, queen sized mattresses began to reach the height of popularity. Nowadays, they are actually still the most popular size currently available. This is true whether you share your bed with a partner or not. People love the comfort of the additional space and size. A normal queen size mattress is 60” x 80”.

Whether you realize it or not, the difference between a full size mattress and a queen size mattress is only 6 inches. But the additional 6 inches in length and width is just enough extra space to keep two people from disturbing each other while they sleep. The additional added space makes sleeping next to another person a lot more enjoyable. It’s comfort that we seek when buying a new mattress, so you have to pick one that’s the right size, and queen size mattresses seem to be the way to go these days.

The Differences between Standard and California King Size Mattress

Some couples will not appreciate sleeping on a King size mattress. To some it will not a good option, whether it might be too big for their bedroom space or they might be shorter in stature.
