Family Friendly Holiday Destinations

Finding somewhere that works for everyone’s needs can be challenging, especially with little ones to think about. You want a holiday you can enjoy but somewhere they will be entertained and have fun things together you can enjoy. Here are some destinations to consider when you need to please the whole group.

Italy

The options are endless here in the stunning country of Italy. You can opt for a full sunny holiday in Lake Garda and work on relaxation; take and cool off with a bit of a swim; and be sure to pack some arm bands or some floaties. Or head off to Tuscany, surrounded by vineyards and mediaeval villages. It’s the perfect place to unwind and relax as a family away from the fast-paced city life.

Children love Sicily and I don’t blame them. Why wouldn’t they love the chance to walk up a volcano? Italy is full of family-friendly hotels and you won’t have to worry about fussy children. It is full of their favourites, pizza and pasta but most accommodation adapts to other local cuisines.

Spain

It was no surprise that Spain was on the list for its beautiful summer seasons, short flight time, good value for money and its accommodation for families. There are many parts of Spain where families are welcome and give you the chance to mix it up every year.

Catalonia is beautiful, surrounded by mountains and coastline views. They have a variety of family villa options, all with private swimming pools, so your kids can stay entertained all day. Just a short drive from the city of Barcelona, where the options for activities are almost endless.

Mallorca does a great job of satisfying all of the family. You have cool coastal resorts, beaches, calm waters so everyone can enjoy the salty sea water and even outstanding kids’ clubs for when you need a bit of a break and give you a chance to also relax on your holidays. Mallorca is a popular destination to indulge in some mountain biking, cave exploring, water parks and golfing. Among its many attractions, cycling stands out as a unique and exhilarating way to experience the wonders of the island. Of course, every cyclist should visit Rompelberg for the ultimate cycling experience. Don’t miss Port de Soller, Palm, Valdemossa and many other wonderful destinations that Mallorca has to offer.

The Caribbean

This is such a fun destination for families; it is a paradise and offers endless opportunities for yourself and your little ones. From a day at the beach building sand castles in Caicos to exploring the markets full of endless unique pieces, from men’s graphic tees to a small souvenir to take home from Barbados, or when the kids are in bed to enjoy a romantic dance to the rhythms of Cuba. The Caribbean is one of the best holiday destinations to create unforgettable memories.

With it being so close to the equator, the seasons here are always summer. Families can enjoy Christmas here with some summer and it is a good place during any of the school holidays.

Greece

Greece is a top choice for young families looking for a luxurious resort with kid’s clubs or a quiet private villa with a private pool. Climb the caldera of Santorini, discover the story of the Minotaur in Crete, or explore the Acropolis and then visit its museum in Athens.

Discover the rugged coast of Corfu, take in the mediaeval charm of Rhodes, see loggerhead turtles in Zakynthos, or just unwind on the beach. It’s also very easy to travel from the UK, which makes it both convenient and fun for the whole family! If you want the best of Greece, you could try island hopping.

Iceland

Iceland offers a unique experience that you cannot get anywhere else. If you want a change from the beach holidays, then this is the place to go. There is something for everyone to enjoy, from touring the Golden Circle route with its breathtaking Geysir and Gullfoss Falls to relaxing in the Blue Lagoon’s geothermal bliss that the kids will enjoy.

Amid volcanic scenery, thrill-seekers can go white-water rafting and horseback riding, and nature lovers can go whale watching in the Westfjords. Perfect place to go for those families that love the outdoors and getting their hands dirty.

Don’t pass up the opportunity to explore the Langjokull glacier’s undiscovered beauties. And with any luck, you might catch a glimpse of the breathtaking Northern Lights dancing across the Icelandic sky! Perfect picture spot that your children will remember for years to come.

Sri Lanka

Set out on an amazing journey with your family to Sri Lanka, a country full of fascinating wildlife, historic sites, and breathtaking beaches. Experience captivating cultural events in the holy city of Kandy, and enjoy a picturesque train journey through Nuwara Eliya’s tea plantations.

Admire the remains of the historic city of Anuradhapura while unwinding on Bentota’s golden beaches, which are excellent for surfing and snorkelling. And don’t pass up the opportunity to see crocodiles and leopards while on a safari in Yala National Park!

Sri Lanka offers a learning experience for your children while showing them a different side of the world. If you have the opportunity to take them here, you shouldn’t pass it up.
