An electric garage door opener is highly efficient. It is fast, it is easy to use, and it will make your garage far more accessible. But, is it worth paying for if you have a manual door in place? In short, the answer to this question is yes. But, only if you actually plan on using it, or plan on installing it to increase resale value.
First off, the electric opener is efficient. It works quickly, you can open/close the garage doors from a distance (so they are open when you get home), and they are safer. Manual doors require you to get out/into your car, and take longer to open/close. Automatic electric-openers are fast, efficient, and simplistic in nature.
Another benefit is convenience and safety. Your home is safer when you have these systems. They are harder to break into. Burglars can see you have them built in. And, you can often add them to your home’s security system, so they are going to increase the safety outside the home.
You don’t have to do the work yourself. This is likely the greatest benefit. In extremely cold weather, you can sit in your car rather than have to run out to open the garage. And, the same goes when driving out for work each morning.

Electric garage door openers are also expected today. More and more buyers who want a home with a garage, will expect this, not a manual opener for the garage. So, if you are planning on selling your home in the near future, this is a great selling point which you can add to the list, when the time comes for you to put your home on the market.

If you plan on using the garage often, then it is well-worth the investment of installing a new garage opener. It is efficient, easy to use, and makes your life easier. And, if you are planning on getting your home ready for an open house or to list it for sale on the market, you will find that an electric garage door opener is going to help you market your home much easier than if you had a manual garage door outside the home.
