Entertainment spaces are no longer only for the rich and famous. Thanks to technology now being more affordable, many families are able to enjoy their own entertainment experience without ever having to leave their homes. If you are thinking about building such a space, let us offer you a few ideas…
TV
Since virtual reality isn’t here just yet, the chances are good that you will want to at least have a TV in your entertainment space. I mean, that is what TVs are for… entertainment. Consider getting a flat screen TV that can be wall mounted so that you will be able to save the floor space for other entertainment items.

You will also want to make sure that you have plenty of games and shows to play or stream on that TV. You can have instant access to thousands of TV shows and movies with services like Netflix and Hulu. You will need the internet for those, though. Consider getting your TV and internet from the same provider to save money. You can do that easily with one of the DIRECTV Internet bundles.
Walls
You will want to decorate the walls with things other than the TV so that they aren’t dull and boring. There are many ways that are quite creative to decorate the walls. You don’t have to use pictures if you don’t want to. If your entertainment space will have a theme, go with items that are related to that theme. You might also decide to put up some shelves to display different items. The possibilities here are endless.

Bar Area
Here is another area where you can let your creative juices flow. The traditional mini bar might not be your cup of tea though so why not consider a coffee or wine bar? Essentially, the area is meant to be a beverage service station, so you will probably want to design it in such a way that it will be a comfortable space for you to enjoy drinks. While the purpose will be the same, the designs for a mini bar can vary greatly. You might opt for concrete, wood, or steel. You can tuck it back in a corner or make it the centerpiece of the space. Just don’t forget these cool features:
- Seating
- Keg, refrigerator, decent selection of drinks and glasses
- Mini bar TV

Flooring
You can’t forget about the floor! You will probably want to do something to the floor so that it will not feel like any other part of your home. You have such a variety of options too! One of the least expensive options can be outdoor carpeting. Consider the outdoor areas rugs that you can find at your local home improvement stores. If you want to go with a bare floor, why not paint it or go with a concrete look? You might even choose to go with glossy wooden flooring that would create the ideal space for dancing. What other options can you think of for flooring?

Renovation and Soundproofing
Each decoration process needs to begin by making any needed repairs to the space and then adding a fresh coat of paint or some new wallpaper. Considering that this space will be used for entertainment purposes, you might think about making it a space that is sound proof. This will allow for visitors to this space to be as loud and uninhibited as they like without worrying about disturbing the other occupants of the house. It will allow for loud TV and stereo volumes as much as it will for squealing kids.
